This has been the most unusual summer. A very warm late spring gave way to a mild June. It got hot again, but just for a few days at a time. It rained quite a bit, and I’m not talking about your run-of-the-mill summer afternoon thunderstorm. I quite enjoy those. No, instead of the usual heat and humidity, it was just damp and downright chilly at times. The sun regularly struggled to peak through the sky, so more than often, my longing for a warm summer night was met with disappointment. A sweater was always at arm’s length.
My apologies for the disquisition on the 2013 East Coast summer, or lack thereof. It’s just that it’s my favorite season and I feel notably cheated this year. I did have a fair amount of fun, but I also missed out on a lot too, like sleep. The older you get, the busier life gets. And I used to think finals week in college was bad. Imagine being a modern career woman trying to make moves and handle her business. It’s like finals week on steroids…of the Alex Rodriguez, Mark McGwire, Jose Canseco variety.
Enough about juiced athletes who deceive fans. On to ways to deceiving your friends and family into drinking tea that they think is juice. Not into deception? Simply refer to it as tea or call it what I do Antioxidant Punch!
I came up with this refreshing concoction during a hot SPRING day and was immediately met with delight. The taste alone makes this one a keeper. The fact that it’s low-glycemic, virtually calorie free and full of antioxidants from hibiscus and green tea makes me all the more excited to share.
